Reliability Lab Intern(Shanghai)

Apple’s innovative hardware reliability engineering team is looking for a talented intern for our Shanghai Reliability Lab. This lab is home of state-of-the-art test equipment for evaluating the performance of new products and provides a training ground for engineers and operators in China – the focus of this team is to insure that our products exceed our customer’s expectations for robustness,durability, and reliability. You will support building the lab’s testing capabilities,outlining the testing methods, and focusing on the small details to make day-to-day activities run smoothly. Your success will allow us to identify and correct design issues quickly.

Description

• Setting up new reliability and failure analysis equipment
• Calibrating and maintaining the reliability equipment and facilities
• Collaborating with engineers to conduct reliability tests
• Supporting failure analysis investigations
• Reporting test and failure analysis results

Requirements

• Laboratory or experimentation experience
• Familiarity with environmental chambers, microscopes, or mechanical stress testers
• Understanding of failure analysis techniques (X-Ray, SEM/EDS, FTIR, XPS, C-SAM)
• Exceptional problem solving abilities to understand root cause of failures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese
• Dynamic and “can-do” attitude with a passion to deliver groundbreaking technologies and a breath-taking experience to our customers

Education and experience:

• Currently enrolled in B.S. or M.S. Engineering degree programs
• Mechanical, Automation or Material background
• Consumer electronics development experience is a huge plus
